Army Signals, 81 Division Strengthen Operational Synergy as GOC Visits Headquarters

The Commander Corps of Signals, Major General Tanimu Abdullahi, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Army Signals’ commitment to strong collaboration with the 81 Division Nigerian Army to enhance operational effectiveness.

Abdullahi gave the assurance on Wednesday when the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, Major General Adebayo Babalola, paid him a courtesy visit at the Headquarters Nigerian Army Signals, Murtala Mohammed House, Arakan Cantonment, Lagos.

Speaking during the visit, the Corps Commander described Babalola as a seasoned and highly experienced senior officer whose professional competence remains unquestionable. He congratulated the GOC on his appointment and assured him of improved synergy between the Corps of Signals and the 81 Division in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s command philosophy.

Earlier, Babalola expressed appreciation for the warm reception extended to him by the Corps. He noted that he felt honoured to be hosted by Abdullahi, whom he described as a mentor dating back to their days at the Nigerian Defence Academy.

The GOC explained that the visit formed part of his familiarisation tour of formations and units within his area of responsibility following his assumption of command of the division.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to collaboration and partnership, adding that he would continue to seek professional guidance where necessary in the discharge of his duties.

The visit, according to officials, underscored the strong professional bond and commitment to enhanced cooperation between the 81 Division and the Nigerian Army Signals.

The highpoint of the engagement was the signing of the visitors’ book, exchange of plaques and a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
