Attah Igala Coronates Alhaji Rufai Yahaya as Ogah Attah, Honors Others

In a grand ceremony filled with cultural pageantry, His Royal Majesty, the Attah Igala, Dr. Mathew Alaji Opaluwa, Oguche Akpa II (CON), on Saturday, December 28, 2024, coronated Alhaji Rufai Yahaya, former Chief Operating Officer of Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), as the Ogah Attah. The event, held at the royal palace in Idah, also honored other illustrious sons of the Igala Kingdom for their contributions to the society.

 

Chief Isaiah Daniel, a Director at the Federal Ministry of Education, was also recognized during the ceremony. The Attah praised their dedication, hard work, and loyalty, urged them to serve as exemplary role models for Igala youths.

 

Addressing the audience, the Attah emphasized the importance of unity and development within the kingdom. “Our kingdom will continue to recognize sons and daughters who uphold Igala virtues and contribute to societal growth,” he said.

 

The event drew notable dignitaries from various walks of life, including Makoji Aduku, Chairman of Energy Portfolios; Senator Shehu Sani; Professor Armstrong Idachaba, former DG of NBC; Collins Onuche, former Director of DSS; Paul Ukwenya; Silas Ahiaba of the NNPC; and Abdul Ibrahim, SAN.

 

The coronation ceremony highlighted the cultural heritage of the Igala Kingdom and served as a call for collective efforts toward progress and unity.
