Barau hails First Lady Remi Tinubu at 65, commends her role in nation-building

Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has congratulated the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her 65th birthday, praised her contributions to national development and democracy.

 

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau described the First Lady as “a patriotic Nigerian par excellence,” whose efforts in public service and humanitarian work have left indelible marks.

 

He highlighted her pet project, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), which he said has been instrumental in tackling the country’s socio-economic challenges since its launch in 2023.

 

“Her Excellency, the mother of the nation, has been making significant contributions to nation-building, and her interventions have positively touched women, children, and youths across Nigeria,” he said.

 

The Deputy Senate President also recalled her impactful tenure as First Lady of Lagos State between 1999 and 2007, where she championed social development through the New Era Foundation, as well as her service as Senator representing Lagos Central from 2011 to 2023.

 

Senator Barau prayed for long life, sound health, and wisdom for the First Lady as she continues to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in delivering the Renewed Hope Agenda.

 

“Once again, Happy Birthday, Your Excellency, the Mother of the Nation,” he added.
