In a concerted effort to strengthen Nigeria’s fight against violent extremism and terrorism, BRAVE-IT (Building Resilience Against Violent Extremism, Insurgency, and Terrorism) is set to host the 2025 edition of its National Security Breakfast Meeting on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 3Js Hotel, Abuja.
Themed “Inter-Agency Collaborations and Citizens’ Cooperation in the Fight Against Kidnapping, Insurgency and Terrorism in Nigeria,” the event aim to bring together top-level security operatives, civil society stakeholders, development partners, and community actors to explore unified strategies in tackling Nigeria’s multifaceted security threats.
The high-profile meeting is expected to feature keynote addresses from the Chief of Defence Staff, General CG Musa, and the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, among other senior representatives from the military, police, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and other paramilitary agencies.
According to Sir AK Peters, National Coordinator of BRAVE-IT, the initiative is geared towards “strengthening bridges between security institutions and everyday citizens, while highlighting the importance of unified action, intelligence sharing, and proactive engagement at all levels.”
“Our nation is at a critical juncture,” Sir Peters noted. “The threats we face from kidnapping to insurgency cannot be solved in silos. We must work across agencies, across communities, and across divides.”
The event will feature panel discussions on inter-agency strategy and trust-building, case studies on successful community-based security interventions, and an interactive session between security personnel and civil society leaders. A communiqué will be issued at the end of the meeting, outlining key recommendations for enhancing national security collaboration.
Media organizations, security correspondents, and policy think tanks have been invited to attend and cover the event.
