In spite of all the petitions by some stakeholders, which informed the suspension of the appointment of new VC for UI, the was an indication that the Council in collaboration with the selection committee want to go ahead with the appointment of the new Vice Chancellor, inspite of the fact that the matter is before the Ministry of Education.
This is contained in a confidential notice memo sent to all the members of the council reconvening a meeting for Nov. 25 in Ibadan.
“Going ahead with any meeting now before the expiration of the tenure of outgoing VC on Nov. 30, is akin to also overlooking the text Prof. Ayoola mistakenly sent exposing the surrespitious moves to impose an unpopular Candidate.
“This is also against the backdrop of the warning of the Visitor to the University on Tuesday Nov. 17, during the 72nd founder’s day of the University against any manipulation.” our source stated.
