Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has been declared the Plateau Man of the Year 2024, an honor bestowed by COA Media Group to recognize outstanding contributions to the state’s development.
Governor Mutfwang was selected for his transformative leadership and innovative governance since assuming office. His administration’s efforts in addressing security challenges, boosting agriculture, improving infrastructure, and enhancing healthcare and education have significantly uplifted the state.
The announcement followed a transparent public nomination and voting process conducted from November 14th to December 31st, 2024. A panel of independent jurors validated the results, with the governor emerging as the overwhelming favorite.
Speaking on the award, Amb. Cletus Akhimien, Principal Coordinating Executive of the Plateau Man of the Year Awards, commended Governor Mutfwang’s commitment to peace, unity, and social justice. “His strides in fostering harmony among diverse communities and prioritizing youth and women empowerment set him apart as a leader dedicated to sustainable development,” he said.
The award will be officially presented during a grand ceremony scheduled for February 2025 at the Crispan Hotel & Events Centre, Jos.
This recognition marks the 10th edition of the Plateau Man of the Year Awards, an initiative aimed at celebrating excellence and innovation in public and private sectors. Past recipients included notable figures such as Dame Pauline Tallen, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, and Amb. Yahaya Kwande.
