Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has described his success at the State Elections Petition Tribunal as a triumph for democracy and a vindication of the people’s choice at the 2019 Governorship Election.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mrs. Mary Noel Berje, the Governor said the ruling delivered by the Tribunal has proved that the Judiciary is actually consolidating on its agenda for the growth and stability and stability of democracy in the country through its fair, courageous and transparent dispensation of justice.
Governor Sani Bello, while expressing gratitude to God for the victory, stated that the state government will use the opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to good governance and service delivery for the general wellbeing of the people.
“We pledge to rededicate ourselves to the service of the state and our people while remaining focused and guided by the principles of accountability, transparency and purposeful leadership”.
He called on the defeated People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Umar Mohammed Nasko to accept the outcome of the Tribunal Judgement in good faith and in the spirit of statesmanship in order to move the state forward.
The Governor reassured that all the state government’s policies and programmes will continue to be geared towards transforming the state and improving the lives of majority of the people always.
He appealed to all those who are into politics for the betterment, progress and development of the people to eschew bitterness and join hands with the government and contribute in building a strong and economically virile state added that ” we are better off together in the service to the people”.
Governor Sani Bello paid special tribute and respect to the State Judiciary for its high sense of responsibility and commitment to duty while appreciating members of the National and State Assemblies for their understanding and contributions.
The Governor also appreciated the Royal fathers, Elders, Religious and community leaders for their steadfastness and belief in the unity, progress and development of the state.
