The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has unveiled a newly redesigned, Artificial Intelligence (AI)–powered website as part of activities marking its 35th anniversary, in a move aimed at deepening ease of doing business and strengthening Nigeria’s corporate regulatory environment.
The unveiling took place on Monday in Abuja during the opening ceremony of the CAC@35 anniversary celebration.
Speaking at the event, the Registrar-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, said the relaunch of the website represented a major milestone in CAC’s ongoing digital transformation agenda and its commitment to improving service delivery to the public.
According to him, the redesigned website introduces two groundbreaking features designed to enhance efficiency and accessibility. The first is an AI Lawyer Assistant, which allows users to ask questions on CAC laws, rules, guidelines, procedures and operations, and receive instant and accurate responses. Magaji explained that the innovation would reduce reliance on physical enquiries and help businesses and professionals obtain regulatory guidance seamlessly.
He disclosed that the second feature is an AI Name Generator, which enabled users to generate, check availability, and reserve scalable business names directly on the CAC portal with greater ease, speed and convenience.
In the spirit of the anniversary celebration, the Registrar-General announced free Business Name registration for 3,500 small businesses, to be spread across the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory. He noted that the initiative is part of CAC’s efforts to support entrepreneurship and promote the growth of micro, small and medium-scale enterprises across the country.
Magaji also announced additional incentives to commemorate the 35th anniversary, including scholarships for six best corporate law students from each of the six campuses of the Nigerian Law School for the 2026 academic year, as part of the Commission’s contribution to capacity building in corporate and commercial law.
As part of CAC’s corporate social responsibility, the Registrar-General further disclosed the donation of 120 mattresses to an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp, while also announcing staff-focused incentives such as a commemorative bonus of 25 per cent of one month’s gross salary, special car loan and special housing loan schemes.
The anniversary event was attended by top government functionaries, captains of industry, legal practitioners and other stakeholders, including a former Governor of Bauchi State, Malam Isa Yuguda, who commended the Commission for its reforms and innovation-driven approach to corporate regulation.
The CAC@35 celebration highlighted the Commission’s journey over the past three and a half decades and reinforces its resolve to leverage technology, transparency and stakeholder engagement to improve Nigeria’s business environment.
