CAC,NIHOTOUR explore collaboration to enhance Hospitality and Tourism Industry

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has reaffirmed its commitment to support the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) in boosting the tourism sector for economic growth.

 

Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, Registrar-General/CEO of CAC, made the pledge during a courtesy visit from the Director General/CEO of NIHOTOUR, Aare (Dr.) Abisoye Fagade.

Magaji highlighted the significant potential within the hospitality industry and expressed CAC’s readiness to support industry stakeholders through data management and partnerships. He proposed joint training initiatives for hospitality operators and employees to unlock the full potential of the sector, aligning with the Renewed Hope Initiative of the current administration.

 

Magaji also encouraged NIHOTOUR to explore the use of technology and seek additional support to improve operational efficiency, ease of doing business, and global competitiveness.

 

Earlier, Aare (Dr.) Abisoye Fagade outlined NIHOTOUR’s mission, focusing on the registration and certification of personnel in the hospitality industry. He raised concerns about unlicensed operators, emphasized the need for partnerships with agencies like CAC to regulate and improve industry standards.

 

Fagade further stressed the importance of CAC’s role in data exchange, enforcement, and peer review to ensure a more organized and effective tourism sector.
