BREAKING: Dariye, Nyame, others released from prison custody
Former Executive Governor of Plateau state, Senator Joshua Dariye, and a former Taraba state governor, Jolly Nyame, and two others have been reportedly released from prison custody. Recall that the Council of State, led by President Muhammadu Buhari had on April 14 approved the pardon of the convicts, a decision which generated condemnations from Nigerians. Meanwhile, when contacted, the FCT spokesman for the Nigerian Correctional Service, Chukwuedo Humphrey, confirmed their release in a telephone interview.

Mustapha (Tafa) Balogun, a former Nigerian Inspector-General of Police (IGP), is dead. Balogun who became IGP under the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo in 2002, died on Thursday, according to family sources. Though, details of his death, however, remain sketchy at the moment. The late Balogun was born on August 8, 1947 at Ila-Orangun in Osun State.
