DHQ confirms explosion at DICON factory, One dead, Others injured

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has confirmed that an ordnance explosion occurred at the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) facility in Kaduna on the morning of Saturday, September 20, 2025.   In a statement signed by Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, Director of Defence Information, DHQ said the incident resulted in the death of one person while several others sustained injuries.   According to preliminary findings, the explosion happened while specialists were completing the destruction of expired hazardous materials, including Ammonia Nitrates, Primer Caps, Propellants, and other ordnance substances.   The…
