President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the death of Lt. General Taoheed Abiodun Lagbaja, Chief of the Army Staff.   Lagbaja died at the age of 56.   According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, he passed away on Tuesday night in Lagos after a period of illness.   The statement reads, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, regrets to announce the passing of Lt. Troops capture wanted bandit kingpin, Habu Dogo

Nigeria Military authorities said its troops have successfully captured Abubakar Ibrahim, also known as Habu Dogo, a wanted bandit leader, during recent operations in Sokoto State.   Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, in a statement said Dogo was taken into custody at Rumji Village in Sokoto’s Illela Local Government Area.   He is reportedly on the watchlist of security agencies both in Nigeria and neighboring Niger Republic, due to his involvement in cross-border terrorist activities.   Also, in another clearance operation in the South-East region, Buba…

President Bola Tinubu, has appointed Major General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede as the Acting Chief of Army Staff (COAS).   A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, explained that Major General Oluyede will act in the position pending the return of the substantive Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja.   Until his appointment, Major General Oluyede served as the 56th Commander of the Elite Infantry Corps of the Nigerian Army, based in Jaji, Kaduna.
