The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Alhaji Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, is set to deliver the keynote lecture at the 2025 National Reunion Conference of the Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates’ Association (UNIFEMGA), scheduled to hold in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
The highly anticipated lecture, billed for Saturday, May 10, 2025, will take place at the iconic Oduduwa Hall, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU). Adeniyi, a distinguished alumnus of the university, will speak on the topic: “Cross Border Trade and Security Implications on the Nigerian Economy: Taking Advantage of Global Trade Dynamics.”
The announcement was made in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Planning Committee, Prof. Sirajudeen Obayopo, and the Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Fagbenro. The three-day conference, running from Friday, May 9 to Sunday, May 11, 2025, is expected to bring together over 300 delegates, including members from the diaspora.
Osun State Governor, Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, will serve as the Special Guest of Honour at the event, while the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, will grace the occasion as the Royal Father of the Day. The Chairman of the occasion is Dr. Muritadha Adeyemi Adeniji, Managing Director/CEO of Starling Global and Ideal Limited. The Vice-Chancellor of OAU, Prof. Adebayo Simeon Bamire, will serve as the host.
Prominent personalities expected include Prof. Yusuf Olaolu Ali (SAN), Prof. Wahab Egbewole (SAN) of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Musa Aibinu of Summit University Offa, and Prof. Akeem Lasisi of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila Orangun.
The conference will open with a Jumat Service led by the Chief Imam, Prof. Abubakar Sanusi, followed by a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor and a networking dinner on Friday. The dinner will feature the UNIFEMGA Investors Forum 2.0 and will be hosted by Alhaji Rafiu Ebiti, Chairman, Board of Trustees, UNIFEMGA, and Pro-Chancellor of Summit University.
Other activities lined up included a welcome reception, student picnic, scholarship presentations, AGM, empowerment sessions, keep-fit exercises, and novelty football matches.
Speaking ahead of the reunion, UNIFEMGA National President, Alhaji Mohammed Buari, said the 2025 reunion aligns with the beginning of his tenure, expressing hope that delegates will find it enriching and memorable.
The UNIFEMGA conference is known for its tradition of combining professional insight with community impact, and this year’s edition is expected to further strengthen bonds among Muslim graduates of the university and promote national development.
