Christmas: Akpabio urges Nigerians to embrace peace, love, unity

The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has congratulated Nigerians, especially Christians, on the celebration of Christmas, called on citizens to promote peace, love, unity, and tolerance across the country.

In a Christmas message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio emphasised the importance of spreading love, kindness, and generosity during the Yuletide season and beyond. He encouraged Nigerians to remember the less privileged and extend a helping hand to those in need.

The Senate President noted that the birth of Jesus Christ symbolised peace, love, and generosity, added that Christmas should be a period of joy, reflection, and togetherness.
“On behalf of my family, constituents, the Senate, and the entire 10th National Assembly, I wish to heartily rejoice with our Christian faithful on this joyful occasion of Christmas,” Akpabio said.

He also called on Nigerians of other faiths to join in the celebration, urged all citizens to live in harmony. “I urge you all to exude love throughout this period and beyond. Let us tolerate one another and strive to be our brothers’ keepers,” he added.

Akpabio further encouraged Nigerians to remain hopeful and steadfast despite prevailing challenges, while praying for sustained peace, unity, and progress in the country.
Expressing optimism about Nigeria’s future, the Senate President stated that the nation is on the right path under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and urged citizens to continue supporting the government for a more prosperous future.
