CHRISTMAS: NOA DG calls for Unity, Love among Nigerians

The Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, has called on Nigerians to use the 2024 Christmas celebrations as a moment to rekindle love, unity, and brotherhood across the country.

In a statement released on Wednesday, December 25, Onilu encouraged Christians to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ by fostering selflessness, care, and compassion for one another. He emphasized that these values are essential for promoting national development and achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda of the present administration.

“Christmas symbolizes God’s love for humanity as demonstrated through the birth of Jesus Christ. We must reflect this love in our relationships with one another. If every one of us selflessly loves and cares for the next person, it will translate into a collective effort at national development,” he said.

Onilu expressed concern over the challenges threatening Nigeria’s unity and urged citizens to protect the bonds of brotherhood that have sustained the nation. He noted that fostering a spirit of love and unity during Christmas would contribute to the country’s stability and progress.

The NOA Director General further called on Nigerians to remain law-abiding and peaceful during and after the celebrations, urging prayers for the prosperity of neighbors and the nation.

He therefore wished the Christian community a joyful Christmas and charged all Nigerians to renew their commitment to peaceful coexistence.
