The Director-General of the Chartered Institute of Mentoring and Coaching Nigeria (CIMCN), Dr. Rotimi Mathew, on Monday, July 8, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Director-General of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Matthew Olumide Adepoju, at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.
Dr. Adepoju, a Fellow of CIMCN, received the visiting delegation as both leaders explored potential areas of collaboration, particularly in integrating structured mentorship and coaching frameworks into NASRDA’s operational culture.
During the engagement, Dr. Mathew briefed the NASRDA boss on the forthcoming 14th Annual National Mentoring and Coaching Summit, scheduled to hold in November 2025 in Abuja. He emphasized the critical role of mentorship in enhancing public sector efficiency and institutional productivity.
“Mentorship is the hinge thing in today’s world, and the civil service needs to embrace it to stay relevant and competitive,” Dr. Mathew said, while advocating for the institutionalization of mentoring as a key component of employee development.
Adepoju expressed keen interest in developing mentorship programs tailored to the agency’s workforce, noted that such initiatives aligned with NASRDA’s human capital development goals and long-term strategic vision.
The CIMCN DG was accompanied by Mr. Femi Akinola and Mr. Moses Ajibade on the visit.
The meeting underscored the rising recognition of mentorship and coaching as vital tools for national development, talent management, and institutional growth across Nigeria’s professional and public sectors.
