The Clerk to the National Assembly CNA , Kamoru Ogunlana has described the assumption of duty of the Chairman , National Assembly Service Commission NASC and the Commissioners as historic.
He bare his mind during the welcome address at the conference hall of the Commission on Monday soon after the swearing in by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He solicited for due process on appointment , promotion as well recommendation of staffers of NASS from the Clerk in line with the normal procedures.
He frowned against going against due process, stating that it tend to erode the tenets of the civil service ,National Assembly and documented evidence for reference and in line with the international standards.
He advised that appointment should be carried out on merit , so as to sustain the existing legacies.
While describing the occasion as crucial , he said three months after his assumption of duty , he is just attending a major program.
He promised to extend the spirit of sportsmanship, harmonious working relationship to the new Chairman and Commissioners of the commission.
Kamoru said the appointment of new Chairman and Commissioners was a testament of individual accomplishments, commitment to public service in line with the mandate of the commission.
He stated that the appointment was strategic , unique by l5everaging on National Assembly Service Commission NASC critical roles in appointments, promotions and discipline.
He canvassed for high level merit driven , responsive and highest level of accountability in line with the tenets of the public service.
He promised to extend his cooperation and unflinching support to ensure model , modest and effective legislation by the National Assembly.
