The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Male Volleyball Spikers Team has emerged victorious in the 2025 National Volleyball Super Cup Tournament, defeating the Customs Service team at the Moshood Abiola Indoor Stadium on Saturday, 7 February 2026.
The Super Cup, which brought together the top six teams from the National Volleyball Premier League, served as a platform to identify the country’s best club while promoting excellence, competitiveness, and player development for future national team selection.
The CNS Spikers, continuing their remarkable streak, followed up consecutive wins in the 2024 and 2025 Premier League seasons with the Super Cup triumph. Several team members also received individual accolades for their performances. Meanwhile, the CNS Female Volleyball Team claimed a bronze medal, finishing third behind the Chief of Army Staff Female Team.
In commending the team, the Chief of the Naval Staff praised their resilience, discipline, and winning mentality. He highlighted the victory as a reflection of sustained excellence and urged the team to uphold high standards, emphasizing that success brings increased expectations and responsibility.
“This accomplishment underscores the Nigerian Navy’s commitment to sports as a means of maintaining physical fitness, fostering teamwork, and motivating personnel to safeguard the nation’s maritime interests,” the CNS stated.
The CNS reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the team in player development and coaching excellence, while urging continued dedication both on and off the court.
