CNS mourns Rear Admiral Sam-Sele, assures family of Nigerian Navy’s support

The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, has condoled with the family of the late Rear Admiral AA Sam-Sele (Rtd), assuring them of the Nigerian Navy’s unwavering support during their period of grief.

During a condolence visit to the bereaved family in Yenagoa on Saturday, 28 February 2026, the Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral Suleiman Ibrahim, conveyed the heartfelt sympathies of the CNS and the entire Nigerian Navy.

He described the late Rear Admiral Sam-Sele as a distinguished senior officer whose service and dedication left a profound and lasting impact on the Nigerian Navy. According to him, the deceased officer’s legacy remains a source of pride and inspiration within the naval community.

The CNS assured the grieving family of the Navy’s solidarity and steadfast support in this difficult time, encouraging them to find solace in their faith and in the honourable legacy of the late Admiral’s years of service to the nation.
