In a decisive step to enhance healthcare access and strengthen civil–military cooperation, the Nigerian Navy has commissioned the Mollah Primary Health Care Centre in Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State, under the Chief of the Naval Staff Special Intervention Quick Impact Project (CNS-SIQIP).
The initiative, facilitated by Rear Admiral Kohath Gyelpanyi Levi, is part of the Navy’s sustained efforts to provide people-centred interventions that directly improve the wellbeing of host communities.
Prior to the commissioning ceremony, Rear Admiral Levi paid a courtesy visit to the Tol Hulba, His Royal Majesty Tol Alheri Bulus Nyako, seeking royal blessings and reaffirming the Navy’s respect for traditional institutions.
Representing the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas (Admiralty Medal), Rear Admiral Adamu Yahaya, Director of Policy at Naval Headquarters, highlighted that the project complements government efforts to strengthen primary healthcare delivery. He noted that the facility would reduce preventable diseases and enhance maternal and child health outcomes for residents of Mollah Town and neighboring communities.
The commissioning was performed by the representative of the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Fintiri, Pharmacist Zirra Mathias Bubanani, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health and Human Services. The event drew top government officials, including the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, traditional rulers, community leaders, and residents, reflecting broad stakeholder support for initiatives that promote grassroots development and social welfare.
Community leaders and beneficiaries lauded the Navy’s intervention, describing the health centre as timely and impactful. The event underscored the Navy’s ongoing commitment to strengthening civil–military relations while contributing meaningfully to sustainable development in Adamawa State.
