CNS Spikers present 2025 National Volleyball Premier League Trophy to Vice Admiral Idi Abbas

The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, today received the triumphant CNS Spikers at the Naval Headquarters in Abuja to officially accept the trophies won during the 2025 National Volleyball Premier League.
The CNS Spikers achieved remarkable success in the nation’s highest volleyball competition, which concluded its second phase on December 14 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.
Captain M.Y Abashi, the team’s Chairman, confirmed that the male CNS Spikers team were the overall champions, secured the gold medal and the coveted championship trophy. They demonstrated dominance by defeating strong opponents, including teams from the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and several state clubs.
The female team also had a stellar outing, securing the silver medal and finishing second overall, with their only defeat coming at the hands of the Nigeria Customs Service team.
Vice Admiral Abbas, who followed the teams’ progress closely through regular briefings, congratulated the players for their outstanding performance and for bringing pride to the Nigerian Navy.
The CNS reiterated the Navy’s commitment to sports development, highlighting its importance for physical fitness, morale, and overall operational readiness. He assured the teams of continued support for future endeavors, expressing confidence in their ability to represent the nation at upcoming international competitions.
The event concluded with a formal presentation of the trophies to the CNS and a group photograph with senior naval officers, players, and officials, celebrating a significant milestone for the Nigerian Navy in the national sports arena.
