COA Media has announced that the 11th edition of the Plateau Man of the Year Awards (PMYA) will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, in Jos, Plateau State, marking a double celebration of excellence as Plateau State turns 50.
The annual event, now in its 11th year, has grown into one of Northern Nigeria’s most respected recognition platforms, celebrating individuals, institutions, and brands that have made transformational contributions to Plateau’s development across key sectors.
This year’s edition is themed “The Convergence of Excellence – Building Legacies, Inspiring Generations,” aligning the awards with the Plateau @50 celebrations.
Speaking on the significance of the milestone edition, Executive Director of COA Media and Team Lead of PMYA, Amb. Cletus Akhimien, said the awards have become a historical archive of the people driving excellence on the Plateau.
“The Plateau Man of the Year Awards has become a legacy platform that documents the people and stories shaping our beloved Plateau. As we celebrate the 11th edition alongside Plateau @50, our goal is to unite excellence across all sectors and honour those who embody the true Plateau spirit of resilience, service, and progress,” he said.
At the heart of the event is the prestigious Star Category the Plateau Man of the Year Award, reserved for an individual whose leadership and impact have significantly advanced the Plateau vision. Previous recipients include:

COA Media also announced that nominations for the 2025 edition are now open across various categories such as leadership, governance, humanitarian service, enterprise, technology, education, youth development, culture, media, and agriculture.
The organisation further called for partnerships and sponsorships from public and private institutions to support the landmark edition in honour of Plateau’s 50th anniversary.
