Commander 18 Brigade Hosts New Year Luncheon for Frontline Troops in Tagina

In a gesture of appreciation and morale-boosting, Brigadier General Taiye Ahmed, Commander of the 18 Brigade, organized a special New Year lunch for frontline troops at the Brigade Tactical Headquarters in Tagina, Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State, on January 1, 2025.

During the event, Brigadier General Ahmed delivered the New Year goodwill message from the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General O.O. Oluyede.

 

The COAS commended the troops for their sacrifices and unwavering commitment to tackling the nation’s security challenges. He encouraged them to remain disciplined, loyal, and focused while continuing to exhibit patriotism in their duties.

 

Representing the Emir of Kagara, Alhaji Ahmadu Attahiru II, the Hakimin Tagina, Alhaji Garba Bako, expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Army for establishing the Brigade Tactical Headquarters in Tagina. He also praised the troops for their rapid and effective responses to security threats in the area.

 

The Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 18 Brigade, Major Yahaya Nasir Kabara, noted that the event featured a variety of meals and beverages, served by Brigadier General Ahmed alongside dignitaries including local district heads, the Chairman of Rafi Local Government Council, the Commander of 18 Brigade Garrison, the Commanding Officer of 45 Battalion, the Divisional Police Officer of Kagara, and other security agency heads.

 

Light-hearted activities such as riddles, jokes, and relaxation sessions were also part of the program. The ceremony concluded with prayers led by the Chaplains for a successful and peaceful year ahead.

 

Troops and guests returned to their duties afterward, marking the event as a morale-boosting and hitch-free occasion.
