Comptroller EJ Harrison has officially taken over as the new Area Controller (CAC) of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Command, marking the beginning of his leadership in one of Nigeria’s busiest airports.
At a ceremony held on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 1100 hours, the Command welcomed its 7th substantive CAC. In her address, Deputy Controller in charge of Administration, DC JJ Madaki, who had been acting in the role following the retirement of Comptroller AM Adegbite, described MMIA as a vital hub for trade and revenue in the West African sub-region.
She highlighted that through strategic stakeholder engagement and teamwork, MMIA surpassed its 2024 annual revenue target by October, underscoring the command’s success under her stewardship. DC Madaki assured Comptroller Harrison of the full support of the officers and prayed for divine guidance as he takes on his new role.
In his address, Comptroller Harrison expressed gratitude for the warm reception and vowed to uphold the CGC’s three-point agenda in his leadership. He emphasized the importance of professionalism and collaboration with sister agencies, urged officers to maintain high standards as they represent Nigeria’s gateway to the world.
Harrison further advised officers to adopt the NCS Seven Golden Rules, particularly the principle of “Consulting Colleagues” when facing challenges, and to escalate unresolved issues to him for prompt action.
The new CAC concluded his speech with prayers for guidance and protection as he embarks on his mission to make MMIA a model of excellence in airport management.
