The National President of the Customs Officers Wives Association (COWA), Mrs. Adeniyi, has commissioned an ultra-modern secretariat at the Tincan Island Port (TCIP) Command in Apapa, Lagos. The event, held on Monday, 16 December 2024, also featured the empowerment of 14 officers’ wives with financial support and skill acquisition certificates.
This historic occasion was attended by officers’ wives, senior customs officers, and stakeholders, marking a significant achievement for the association. Mrs. Adeniyi described the secretariat as a “beacon of hope” for COWA members and a testament to the Nigerian Customs Service’s (NCS) support for their initiatives.
She emphasized, “This secretariat symbolizes progress and unity for our members while reflecting the NCS’s commitment to empowering women and fostering solidarity within the association.”
The Chairperson of the COWA TCIP Chapter, Mrs. Chinelo Dera Nnadi, highlighted the secretariat as a product of dedication and teamwork. Comptroller Dera Nnadi, now acting Assistant Comptroller General (ACG), praised the leadership of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, for inspiring transformational achievements at Tincan Island, including surpassing a revenue target of N1.2 trillion in 2024.
The event concluded with an end-of-year party, celebrating unity and success among officers and their families.
