The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, on Tuesday led an extensive operational patrol along the FCT–Nasarawa–Kogi boundaries as part of sustained efforts to strengthen security in boundary and adjoining communities.
The patrol, conducted on December 30, 2025, was aimed at assessing security deployments and reinforcing police presence in areas considered vulnerable to criminal activities. The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, anipr, mipra, in Abuja.
According to the statement, the exercise formed part of the Commissioner’s broader operational strategy to personally evaluate ongoing security operations across the FCT, with particular focus on boundary corridors and flashpoint areas susceptible to criminal activities.
During the exercise, CP Dantawaye paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Ona of Abaji, His Royal Majesty (Dr.) Adamu Baba Yunusa, CON, where he reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustained collaboration with traditional institutions in advancing community-based security initiatives.
The operational tour also covered Narati Tsofo, Narati Sabo, Chijisabo, Chiji, Abate and Achido communities in Nasarawa State, alongside other adjoining locations that have experienced security challenges in recent times. While on ground, the Commissioner assessed existing deployments, issued on-the-spot operational directives and reinforced police presence in the affected areas.
CP Dantawaye commended officers deployed to the locations for their dedication, resilience and successes recorded against criminal elements, while urging residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons or activities.
