CP Niger visits Brigade Commander, 31 Artillery Brigade, seeks cooperation to fight crime

The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command ,CP Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman today 6th December,2023 paid a courtesy visit to the Brigade Commander, 31 Artillery Brigade, Brig. Gen. H. Bobbo in his office at HQ 31 Artillery Brigade Minna, Niger state capital.

 

The CP asserted in his remarks that having assumed duty, it became necessary to pay a courtesy call to familiarize himself with the formation and to solicit for heightened understanding and cooperation between the Nigerian Army and the Police in the State.

 

He noted that the situation in Niger State, viz-a-viz the neighboring States warranted the cooperation of both agencies to fight the situation at hand. He affirmed that even as there were tactical deployments across the State, the two agencies needed to come together as this level.

 

He reiterated that the State is very large and no agency can do it alone, therefore, he had to visit for partnership, cooperation and synergy for the purpose of security and peace of the State, while he looks forward to such cooperation.

 

He finally appreciated the Commander for receiving him, as well as the strategic officers of the formation for the warm reception.

 

In his response, Brig. Gen. H. Bobbo assured the CP of one hundred percent support, collaboration and cooperation, he noted that the narrative must be changed, as he reiterated that he had a cordial relationship with the former Commissioner of Police.

 

The Commander asserted that robust relationship covered both official and personal engagements, while he briefed the CP, the series of working relationship that has been in existence between the Army and the Police in the State.

 

He said that due to the large nature of the State, the Army has been trying to ensure more coverage in the State, as 18 Brigade had just been recently established in Tegina for wider coverage and operational spread.

 

He further noted that synergy and cooperation have always been there, but just to sustain it and intelligence sharing has been wonderful. He re-emphasized that the Army will continue to support the Police, as the lead agency in internal security and the objective is engagement towards ensuring a more secured environment for economic growth and development in the State.
