The Kebbi Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), led by Comptroller Iheanacho Ernest Ojike, has demonstrated its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility by distributing writing materials and foodstuffs to over 1,700 pupils at Gwandu Emirate Model Primary School, Birnin Kebbi.
The charity visit, which took place on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, was part of efforts to engage with the community and support educational development in Kebbi State. During the event, Comptroller Ojike donated books, pencils, pens, and essential food items to the pupils, describing the gesture as an investment in the leaders of tomorrow.
In his remarks, Ojike emphasized the importance of education and awareness of the Nigeria Customs Service’s role in national development. He highlighted the need for the pupils to understand the negative impact of smuggling on the economy and urged them to grow as law-abiding citizens.
Malam Aminu Sani, the Headmaster of the school, expressed gratitude for the donations, noting that the initiative would greatly support the pupils’ education. He commended the Customs Service for its compassion and dedication to societal welfare.
Alhaji Ibrahim Bashir KKB Galadiman Gwandu, representing the Emirates Council, conveyed the Emir of Gwandu’s heartfelt appreciation for the kind gesture. He praised the Customs Service for its dedication to the community and its efforts to foster development in Kebbi State.
