The Junior Deputy Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic, Mrs. Radka Konderlová, on Tuesday, 19 August 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, at the Naval Headquarters, Abuja.
Mrs. Konderlová expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded her delegation since their arrival in Nigeria. She thanked the CNS for the audience and explained that her mission was to explore avenues to deepen cooperation between the Czech Republic and the Nigerian Armed Forces. She highlighted the provision of military hardware and exchange of defence technology as key areas where both countries could expand collaboration.
In his response, Vice Admiral Ogalla welcomed the Deputy Minister and recalled the long-standing diplomatic relations between Nigeria and the Czech Republic. He noted the Czech Republic’s global reputation in the manufacture of military equipment and emphasized that, as Nigeria ramp up its local defence production, technology transfer would be a vital area for partnership across the Armed Forces.
The visit concluded with the signing of the Visitors’ Register and exchange of memorabilia.
