The Chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has commended Dr. Krystal Chanchangi, CEO of Kids Multicultural World, Las Vegas, for her dedication to promoting Nigerian culture among children in the diaspora.
Speaking through Engr. Dr. Sule Yakubu Bassi, Secretary to the Commission, Dabiri-Erewa emphasized the significant role of Nigerians in the diaspora in national development, particularly in sectors such as medicine, engineering, entrepreneurship, aviation, culture, and sports.
She reaffirmed NiDCOM’s commitment to strengthening ties with the diaspora through various initiatives, including the National Diaspora Policy, the Diaspora Data Mapping Portal, the National Diaspora Day, and the Nigerian Diaspora Investment Summit. Bassi also highlighted key diaspora-focused programs such as the Nigerian Diaspora Mortgage Scheme, the Nigerian Diaspora Investment Trust Fund, and Diaspora Medical Missions, which provide free healthcare services in Nigeria.
Dr. Chanchangi, a Nigerian-American from Taraba State, shared her passion for preserving Nigerian cultural heritage among young children abroad. She noted that her annual cultural festivals in Las Vegas, Chicago, and Texas serve as platforms for over 36,000 children of diverse backgrounds to embrace their roots.
Beyond her cultural advocacy, Chanchangi has demonstrated her commitment to education and youth empowerment by adopting a school in Anambra State and covering school fees for 1,000 children.
She expressed gratitude to Hon. Dabiri-Erewa and the NiDCOM team for their warm reception and pledged to continue using her platform to promote Nigerian culture and empower young Nigerians globally.
