Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has congratulated Muhammad Aminu Sani, an 18-year-old Nigerian, for making aviation history by earning a United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Commercial Multi-Engine Pilot Licence from Phoenix East Aviation (PEA) in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Dabiri-Erewa described Sani’s achievement as a shining example of the brilliance, resilience, and determination of young Nigerians breaking global boundaries. She noted that his success at such a young age reflected the limitless potential of Nigerian youths when given the right opportunities, mentorship, and support.
In a statement signed by Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols at NiDCOM, the agency commended Sani for completing the demanding training programme in less than 12 months an exceptional record achieved without a single checkride failure, a rarity even among experienced trainees. His consistency, discipline, and focus, the statement added, exemplify the dedication required to turn dreams into reality.
“Becoming a pilot has always been my childhood dream, and today I’m proud to say I’m living that dream and enjoying every step of the journey,” Sani said. “I hope my story inspires others to chase their dreams with determination and never give up on what they believe.”
Born and raised in Abuja, Sani turned 18 last week. He completed his secondary education at Al-Hidaayah Academy and graduated with distinction in Economics Foundation from The Regent College, Abuja, before proceeding to the United States for flight training.
At Phoenix East Aviation, one of the world’s leading FAA Part 141 flight schools, Sani excelled under rigorous training conditions including night flights, instrument navigation, and multi-engine operations, maintaining an impressive 97% average score in all FAA written examinations.
