The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has expressed condolences to world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, following a fatal road accident involving him, his friends and aides along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
The condolence message was contained in a statement signed by the Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols of NiDCOM, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, mourning the tragic loss of two members of Joshua’s entourage who died in the accident.
The crash, which occurred on Monday, claimed two lives, while Anthony Joshua sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical attention.
Dabiri-Erewa described the incident as a painful and tragic loss, extending her sympathies to Joshua and the families of the deceased, while praying for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives and a speedy recovery for the boxer.
Meanwhile, Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, in a joint statement, said they are closely monitoring the situation and have directed that Anthony Joshua and his driver receive the best possible medical care.
