The Chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Nigerian-born global education executive, Gbemi Disu, on her recent appointment as the Senior Vice President, Global Partner Development at WorldQuant University (WQU).
In a statement released on Saturday by NiDCOM’s Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa described the appointment as “another shining testament to the impact and excellence Nigerians in the Diaspora are bringing to world-class institutions.”
The NiDCOM boss said that Disu’s new role represents a strategic bridge-building function, one that aligns strongly with the Commission’s mission to harness the potential of Nigerians in the Diaspora for national and global development.
“Such multi-dimensional expertise equips Disu to champion scalable, inclusive pathways for knowledge exchange—an area of growing importance as Nigeria and other African countries strive to build talent pipelines in data, technology, and quantitative fields,” she stated.
Gbemi Disu’s career spanned multiple continents and sectors, with extensive experience in higher education, financial services, and energy. Her professional track record included roles across North America, Asia, Africa, and Europe.
Dabiri-Erewa encouraged Nigerian academics, innovators, institutions, and development stakeholders to engage with WorldQuant University through Disu’s office, especially as the university seeks to deepen partnerships and expand its global footprint.
