The Chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has called on Nigerians living abroad to support the newly introduced Nigeria First Policy, a presidential initiative aimed at prioritising national interest and promoting local content in governance.
In a video message made available to the media on Thursday, Dabiri-Erewa highlighted that the policy, introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, seeks to drive national development by encouraging the use of locally made products and home-grown solutions, particularly in government procurement and policy implementation.
According to her, the Nigeria First Policy comes at a critical juncture in the country’s development journey and requires the active participation of all Nigerians, especially those in the diaspora who possess valuable expertise, skills, and resources.
“My brothers and sisters in the diaspora, this is an opportunity to key into this initiative. Bring your expertise, knowledge, and talents back home to Nigeria,” Dabiri-Erewa appealed.
She further assured that NiDCOM is fully prepared to work with diaspora Nigerians in various capacities to actualize the goals of the new policy and deepen their engagement in national affairs.
The NiDCOM Chairman described the policy as a call to action and a rallying point for all Nigerians to support the government’s efforts toward building a resilient, inclusive, and prosperous country.
