In a grand ceremony reflecting Daura’s rich cultural heritage, the Emir of Daura, HRH Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar, has turbaned Dr. Samira Buhari, Founder of Daurama Foundation, with the revered title of Daurama Karama. The event, held over the weekend in Daura, Katsina State, celebrated Dr. Buhari’s remarkable contributions to society, particularly in the areas of healthcare, education, and women’s empowerment.
The Emir praised Dr. Buhari’s compassionate leadership and commitment to community service, stating, “The title of Daurama Karama symbolizes grace, resilience, and a profound dedication to the community. Dr. Samira Buhari’s exemplary efforts in advancing healthcare and education have made her a beacon of hope for future generations.”
In a historic moment for the Salisu Buhari family, Dr. Samira was turbaned alongside her brothers, Alhaji Ibrahim Salisu Buhari and Dr. Gazzali Salisu Buhari. Alhaji Ibrahim received the title of Iyan Daura, while Dr. Gazzali was honoured as Makaman Kasar Hausa, highlighting their collective dedication to leadership and service.
Expressing his gratitude, Alhaji Ibrahim Salisu Buhari said, “Receiving this title is both humbling and motivating. It is a reminder of the trust placed in us to contribute meaningfully to our community.”
