The President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs. Oghogho Musa, has solicited the support of the Nigerian Navy for the association’s flagship and ongoing humanitarian initiatives.
Mrs. Musa made the appeal on Monday during a working visit to the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, at the Naval Headquarters in Abuja. She highlighted DEPOWA’s flagship initiative, “Thank You to Our Troops,” which is designed to recognize the sacrifices of Armed Forces personnel while boosting their morale.
According to her, DEPOWA remained committed to the welfare of military personnel, their families, and host communities through empowerment programmes, humanitarian outreaches, and advocacy efforts. She commended the CNS for his support to the association and sought further collaboration in implementing targeted intervention projects.
In his response, Vice Admiral Ogalla lauded DEPOWA’s vision and described the “Thank You to Our Troops” project as both noble and timely. He emphasized that such gestures would greatly encourage officers and ratings in their service to the nation. The CNS further assured the association of the Navy’s continued partnership in the execution of its welfare-driven initiatives.
