The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has strongly condemned the recent deadly attack on residents of Angwan Rukuba in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, describing it as senseless and unacceptable.
The attack, which reportedly occurred on Sunday night, left several people dead and many others injured, plunging the community into grief and mourning.
In a condolence message issued on Monday, Kalu expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident and extended his sympathies to the bereaved families, as well as the Plateau State Government. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the attack.
The Deputy Speaker stressed that the sanctity of human life must be upheld at all times, noting that such acts of violence have no place in a civil society.
He assured residents that security agencies would intensify efforts to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice, vowing that those responsible would not go unpunished.
Kalu further urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement agencies by providing credible information that could support ongoing investigations.
He also called for strengthened security measures in vulnerable communities and a renewed commitment from all stakeholders to ensure lasting peace in Plateau State and across Nigeria.
