The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has launched an ambitious nationwide mobilisation drive, directing the Renewed Hope Partners (RHP) to register no fewer than 150 million supporters in backing the re-election bid of Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of 2027.
Kalu gave the directive on Thursday in Abuja while hosting a delegation of the support group from Edo, Ekiti, and Katsina states during a courtesy visit held alongside activities marking the National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Deputy Speaker, who founded the Renewed Hope Partners initiative, said the movement is designed to deepen public awareness of the administration’s policies while strengthening democratic participation across Nigeria. He charged members to take the Renewed Hope Agenda to grassroots communities nationwide, including markets, campuses, worship centres, and motor parks.
According to Kalu, the group aimed to establish functional structures in all universities, local government areas, and major public spaces, ensuring that government policies are communicated in relatable terms to everyday Nigerians.
“This initiative speaks to the future of Nigeria. Whatever we do today is to make us a better nation in the years to come,” he said, urging members to make the President’s agenda the central topic of discussion in communities across the country.
He further explained that the group’s role goes beyond electioneering, encompassing voter mobilisation, advocacy, and legislative engagement. Kalu noted that RHP members are also expected to support key reform initiatives, including proposals on women’s reserved seats, independent candidacy, local government autonomy, and the establishment of state police.
Describing members of the group as “change agents and nation builders,” Kalu called for broader partnerships with like-minded organisations and individuals committed to national development.
Earlier, the National Coordinator of the group, Mathias Ehizua, said the delegation’s visit was to brief the Deputy Speaker on progress made since the group’s formation two months ago, particularly in the area of online membership registration.
Ehizua highlighted that the Renewed Hope Partners distinguished itself through its digital database system, which tracks membership growth nationwide.
In separate remarks, representatives from Ekiti, Katsina, and Edo states reaffirmed their commitment to expanding the group’s reach across polling units, wards, and local government areas.
The Edo State Coordinator, Armstrong Adedigba, disclosed that the state chapter has already registered 11,800 members within two months, expressed confidence that more groups, including civil society organisations and faith-based bodies, are set to join the initiative.
The Renewed Hope Partners’ aggressive expansion strategy signaled an early build-up to the 2027 general elections, with a focus on grassroots mobilisation and nationwide political engagement.
