The attention of the Niger State Government has been drawn to a fraudulent online portal circulating on various social media platforms, falsely claiming to offer registration for a Niger State Youth Empowerment and Farmers’ Grant Programme.
In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, the public is informed that the State Government has not launched any such registration portal. This fraudulent portal is the work of unscrupulous individuals seeking to defraud unsuspecting citizens.
The SSG strongly advises the public to disregard any messages, links, or information related to this fake grant programme. Citizens are cautioned against submitting personal information on such portals and are urged to remain vigilant against similar fraudulent schemes that exploit the name of the State Government.
Alhaji Usman reiterated that all legitimate government programmes and initiatives are announced exclusively through the State Government’s official channels, including its website and verified social media accounts. Any genuine empowerment programme will be communicated through these platforms.
The public is encouraged to report any suspicious links or information regarding this fraudulent scheme to the relevant security agencies.
