The Director-General of National Youth Service Corps NYSC , Brigadier General Shuaibu lbrahim has warned corps members not to deface NYSC uniforms because it is their National identity with which they are expected to be properly dressed at all time as graduates and responsible role models.
The Director-General gave this warning during his working tour to Nasarawa State Orientation Camp in Keffi.
While addressing the 2019 Batch ‘B’ Stream One Corps Members, the DG admonished them to obey the culture and traditions of their host communities and discharge their statutory responsibilities with diligence.
He also urged them to avoid keeping late nights in order not to endanger themselves.
“Never allow money becloud your patriotism. Don’t allow your action today hunt you tomorrow. You must be of good conduct and add value to wherever you are. Take advantage of the potentials of the Orientation Exercise and it’s benefits”, Ibrahim said.
The Director-General appealed to the Corps Members to exercise discipline, focus and be strongly determined to attain greater heights in life.
He tasked them to uphold the ideals of the NYSC Scheme targeted at National unity and peaceful coexistence.
Brigadier General Ibrahim urged the Corps Members to study the NYSC Act and allow it guide their conduct because it was part of the Nigerian constitution that regulates NYSC’s activities.
