The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) have reinforced their commitment to collaborating in the fight against corruption, with the aim of fostering economic growth and ensuring a transparent business environment.
This commitment was reaffirmed during a courtesy visit by the EFCC Executive Chairman, Olanipekun Olukoyede, to the CAC Registrar-General/CEO, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji (SAN), at the commission’s headquarters.
In his remarks, the EFCC Chairman commended the CAC management and staff for their continuous support and swift responses to EFCC requests. He emphasized that both agencies play vital roles in promoting accountability and regulatory compliance for the nation’s benefit.
Olukoyede further underscored his resolve to utilize anti-corruption mechanisms as a means to stimulate economic growth, attract investors, and ensure a level playing field for businesses operating in Nigeria.
Responding, the CAC Registrar-General described the visit as an opportunity to strengthen the existing synergy between the two agencies, particularly in areas of knowledge and information sharing. He reaffirmed CAC’s commitment to aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 7-Point Transformation Agenda to drive economic reform.
Magaji also highlighted CAC’s ongoing digital transformation, revealed that the commission has integrated Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its company registration processes. He stated that the goal is to achieve seamless company registration within one hour—similar to global standards such as the UK Companies House.
Accompanying the EFCC Chairman on the visit was Mr. Chris Odofin, Special Investigation Officer. The CAC delegation comprised Mrs. Olayemi Oyeniyi, Director of Human Resources; Mr. Deinma Anga, Director of Customer Service; Mr. Duke Ukaga, Director of Incorporated Trustees; Mr. Justine Nidiya, Special Adviser to the Registrar-General; Mr. Dominic Inyang, Director of Public Affairs; Mr. Sulaiman Mamman, Director of Record Management Department; Mr. Terver Ayua-Jor, Special Assistant to the Registrar-General; Mr. Sani Lere, Assistant Director/PA on Protocol to the Registrar-General; Ms. Dorothy Eze Okonkwo, PA to the Registrar-General on New Media; and Mr. Moses Enamhe Ushie, PM, Media & Publicity.
The strengthened collaboration between EFCC and CAC is expected to enhance transparency in corporate governance, prevent financial crimes, and contribute to Nigeria’s economic transformation.
