The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has extended warm felicitations to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, called for renewed commitment to compassion, forgiveness, and unity.
In a goodwill message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, the Senate President congratulated the Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, describing the period as one of deep spiritual reflection and self-discipline.
Akpabio urged Muslims to sustain the virtues of generosity and love cultivated during the fasting period, particularly through acts of charity and support for the less privileged in society.
“This joyous celebration reminds us of the profound values of compassion, forgiveness, and unity that Eid-el-Fitr embodies,” he stated. “As you conclude this important exercise of fasting and spiritual reflection, be reminded of the importance of empathy, kindness, and generosity towards others, particularly the less privileged.”
He further expressed hope that the spirit of the festival would inspire Nigerians to promote understanding and work collectively towards building a more just and harmonious society.
The Senate President also conveyed his best wishes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Muslims nationwide, prayed for peace, progress, and prosperity in Nigeria and across the globe.
Akpabio reaffirmed the commitment of the 10th National Assembly to fostering national unity and supporting initiatives that promote social cohesion and inclusive development.
