Eid el-Fitr: Zone 7 Police urge Vigilance, Commend Residents for Peaceful Ramadan in FCT, Niger

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 7, Abuja, has commended residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Niger State for their peaceful conduct, patience, and cooperation throughout the Ramadan period, noting that their discipline contributed significantly to the relative calm experienced across the zone.

The commendation was conveyed in a statement issued by the Zone 7 Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Halima, who also highlighted the AIG’s appreciation for the efforts of officers and men of the Zone 7 Command, as well as personnel of the FCT and Niger State Police Commands, for their professionalism and sacrifice in safeguarding lives and property.

The AIG acknowledged the commitment of personnel who remained on duty despite being away from their families, described their dedication as instrumental to maintaining security during the holy month.

As Muslims prepare to celebrate Eid el-Fitr, the police boss urged residents to celebrate responsibly and remain security conscious. He advised motorists to avoid reckless driving and comply strictly with traffic regulations, while also calling on the public to remain vigilant in crowded places such as mosques, markets, and event centres.
Residents were further encouraged to promptly report any suspicious movements or objects to security agencies. Parents and guardians were advised to closely monitor their wards, while those travelling were urged to ensure their homes and properties are properly secured.

The Zone 7 Command assured the public of adequate deployment of personnel and operational resources across strategic locations to guarantee a safe and hitch-free Eid celebration.
The police also appreciated the support of community leaders, religious institutions, and media organisations in strengthening police-community relations, urging continued collaboration in building a safer society.
