The Nasarawa state Governor ,Engr.Abdullahi Sule has called on Nigerians to continue praying for those who are in the helm of affairs in Nigeria , starting with President Muhammadu Buhari, state Governors, all other leaders on various stages and also nation and its people.
Engr.Sule stated this while addressing journalists in his home town ,Gudi ,Nasarawa state where he observed the Eid – el- Kabir two rakats prayer with other Muslim faithful.
The Governor prayed that ;”the Almighty Allah will continue to protect us, guide us, to bless us and to give us all the wisdom so that we can overcome all the challenges that we face in Nasarawa State and in Nigeria at large.
“Glory be to Allah for giving us the opportunity to witness another Eid-el-Kabir. As you know it in this part of the world as the Sallah for sacrifice. It signifies alot to us as a Muslim nations.
“When Abrahim Allah Salam decided to offer his son as sacrifice as a result bof instructions and directive of Almighty Allah. And it was because of his obedience that a ram was used to replace.
“So it makes a lot of meaning for us – both in Islam as well as Christianity. Both religions are religions that believe in sacrifice. The Christian religion believes the biggest sacrifice was sacrifice by Christ and in the Muslim religion, we are following the same. It is the sacrifice of Prophet Abrahim Allah Salam.
“So on behalf of the people and government of Nasarawa State, I want to wish everyone of us here in Nasarawa State a happy Eid-el-Kabir. I want to call on everyone of us to copy from what we are learning from both religions so that we will be able to practice the will of the Almighty Allah”.
He said the celebration was coming at a very critical moment, a period where Nigeria is facing some security challenges, economic challenges and also health challenges especially the COVID-19 pandemic that has not completely gone away.
“From what we are seeing from other nations, the third wave is sweeping across some of these nations. We are very grateful and thankful to the Almighty Allah that our own situation is not as bad as we have seen in other nations.
“But that doesn’t mean that we should also relax, we must channel all our efforts to ensure that we protect ourselves and protect other people.
“So on behalf of my family, on behalf of the people of Nasarawa State, and government of Nasarawa State, I wish everyone of us happy Sallah period and God bless” the Governor added.
