Excitement is building across the six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as the much-awaited Montage FM 99.7 Area Councils Football Tournament kick off this Saturday.
In Abaji, the opening-day spotlight will be on Future Planners as they take on Dream Team, while Emirate Stars will lock horns with Abaji FA in another highly anticipated fixture.
Action will also be intense in AMAC, where Gum FA will battle FC Liberty International, just as 2K19 face Peculiar FC.
In Bwari, Chidex FC will square up against Dutse United, while Kubwa FC engage White Pigeon in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.
Over in Gwagwalada, Bucknor FC await Soccer Talents, and Medical Strikers will confront Sensational Stars in a competitive pairing.
Football fans in Kwali will witness Kolo Babes take on ECN Global Academy, followed by Sheda United facing Otega FA.
At Kuje, Crown Tee FC meet Ultimate FC, while KANGO FC trade tackles with Amazing Grace FC.
Tournament Coordinator, Mr. Raphael Ekpang, assured that all matches will proceed as scheduled. He urged football lovers across the FCT to turn out in large numbers and support their community teams.
Ekpang noted that Montage FM 99.7 is “setting the pace” in promoting unity across communities, discovering raw football talent, encouraging physical fitness and discipline, and addressing youth restiveness through sports.
The grassroots championship, themed “Montage FM 99.7: Empowering Youth, Uniting Communities Through Football,” will feature 24 teams, with each of the six Area Councils presenting four teams.
Teams will be competing for a prize package worth over ₦2 million, alongside other rewards.
