FCT Police Announces Recruitment Screening for Constables, Warns Against Fraud

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has announced that the physical and credential screening exercise for the recruitment of General Duty and Specialist Police Constables into the Nigeria Police Force will take place from March 9 to April 18, 2026, at the FCT Police Command Headquarters in Garki II, Abuja.

According to SP Josephine Adeh, Police Public Relations Officer of the FCT Police Command, the exercise followed a nationwide deployment of police officers by the Inspector General of Police to oversee the screening process across all states of the Federation, including the FCT.

SP Adeh stated that applicants who successfully submitted their applications are required to attend the screening on the dates allocated for their states. They are expected to bring several documents, including evidence of physical and mental fitness from a government-recognized medical facility, originals and duplicates of their Certificate of Origin, National Identity Card or NIN slip, O’Level results, birth certificate or declaration of age, printout of the application form, completed guarantor’s form, and the invitation slip.

She emphasized that the recruitment process will be strictly merit-based, conducted with the highest standards of professionalism and transparency. Applicants are urged to adhere to all guidelines and ensure the submission of all required documents.

The command also warned the public that the recruitment process is completely free of charge and advised reporting any individual or group demanding payment or gratification in connection with the exercise.
