FCT Police foils armed robbery in Karu, arrests suspect , recovers weapons

The FCT Police Command has successfully foiled an armed robbery attempt in Karu, arrested one suspect and recovered a firearm along with other dangerous weapons.

According to SP Josephine Adeh,Police Public Relations Officer of the FCT Command, at around 3:43 a.m. on 27th December, a distress call was received reporting an ongoing armed robbery at a residence in Karu Site. A response team from Karu Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, quickly proceeded to the scene.

Upon encountering the police, the suspects opened fire, but the officers responded professionally, subduing and arrested one of the perpetrators, identified as Abdul Mohammed, a 20-year-old male from Masaka, Nasarawa State. Two other accomplices managed to escape.

Recovered exhibits included two mobile phones, one locally fabricated firearm, four live cartridges, two knives, one cutlass, and a torchlight. The arrested suspect is receiving medical attention, while investigations continue to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
