The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has rescued a 25-year-old woman, Promise Eze, who was found unconscious and tied to a chair in a hotel room.
According to reports, Promise had checked into the hotel on January 30, 2025, at around 7:00 AM, with a man she met online, identified as Emmanuel Okoro from Lagos State. However, she was later discovered in a distressed state, with her mouth covered in plaster.
Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu, who shared details of the incident on social media, warned women to be cautious when meeting strangers online.
The FCT Police Command has launched an investigation into the matter and has urged anyone with relevant information to come forward. Meanwhile, the victim is receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital.
This incident followed a recent case involving the murder of a woman named Salome by her alleged boyfriend, highlighting growing concerns about the safety of women in Nigeria.
