The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared a total of N1.818 trillion among the Federal Government, State Governments, and Local Government Areas (LGAs) as allocation for the month of June 2025, drawn from a gross revenue of N4.232 trillion.
The monthly FAAC meeting, held in July 2025 and chaired by the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, concluded with the disbursement of the allocation, which comprised Gross Statutory Revenue, Value Added Tax (VAT), Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), Exchange Difference, and an additional N100 billion augmentation from non-mineral revenue.
From the total distributable amount, the Federal Government received N645.383 billion, the State Governments got N607.417 billion, while the Local Government Councils received N444.853 billion. In addition, the sum of N120.759 billion was allocated to oil-producing states as 13 percent derivation from mineral revenue. The sum of N162.786 billion was set aside for the cost of collection, while N2.251 trillion was earmarked for transfers, interventions, and refunds.
According to the communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, gross revenue from VAT for June 2025 stood at N678.165 billion, showing a decline of N64.655 billion compared to the N742.820 billion generated in May. From this amount, N27.127 billion was used for collection costs, while N19.531 billion was allocated for transfers and refunds. The remaining N631.507 billion was distributed among the three tiers of government, with the Federal Government receiving N94.726 billion, States N315.754 billion, and LGAs N221.027 billion.
The gross statutory revenue for the month reached N3.385 trillion, which is an increase of N1.390 trillion compared to the N2.094 trillion recorded in May. From this amount, N134.444 billion was set aside for collection costs, and N2.231 trillion was allocated for transfers, interventions, and refunds. The balance of N1.018 trillion was shared among the three tiers of government, with the Federal Government receiving N474.455 billion, States N240.650 billion, LGAs N185.531 billion, and oil-producing states receiving N118.256 billion as derivation revenue.
Revenue from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) amounted to N30.380 billion for the month. From this, the Federal Government received N4.375 billion, the States got N14.582 billion, and the LGAs received N10.208 billion, while N1.215 billion was retained for the cost of collection.
In his remarks at the meeting, Mr. Wale Edun expressed deep condolences to members of the committee and Nigerians both at home and abroad over the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari. He described the death as a national loss, noting that the former leader’s legacy would remain a reference point for service to the nation. He added that the country was still in mourning and urged members to continue aligning with the policy direction of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in the collective effort to reposition the Nigerian economy.
