Foreign Affairs Ministry honours veteran Diplomat Husseini

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday hosted a grand farewell reception in honour of Ambassador Bello Kazaure Husseini, celebrating his remarkable career and decades of dedicated service to Nigeria’s Foreign Service.

The event, held at the Ministry’s Atrium, drew senior government officials, serving and retired diplomats, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of international organisations, colleagues, friends, and family.

Born on 11 December 1967 in Jigawa State, Ambassador Husseini joined the Ministry in 1991 and served in numerous key capacities both at headquarters and in foreign missions, including India, Kuwait, Tunisia, Japan, Cameroon, Australia, and Saudi Arabia. His work spanned diplomacy, trade facilitation, protocol, and bilateral and multilateral engagements.

During the reception, guests paid tribute to his professionalism, integrity, humility, and unwavering commitment to public service. Speakers also highlighted his mentorship, inclusive leadership, and significant contributions to institutional development within the Foreign Service.

In his remarks, Ambassador Husseini expressed gratitude to the Federal Government, the Ministry, and colleagues, urging younger officers to uphold discipline, patriotism, and professionalism.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended Ambassador Husseini for his exemplary service and wished him continued success and fulfilment in all future endeavours.
